About
I'm Steven. I build every site.
I build websites and sort out Google listings for trades and local businesses across Hampshire. The point is simple: when someone nearby searches for what you do, they find you, and they ring you.

01 How I got here
The websites made the phone ring
I got into this running a small marketing agency with a mate, looking after social media and websites for local businesses: a garage, a glazing firm, an electrician, a bakery.
The websites were the part I enjoyed most, and they were the part that actually made the phone ring for those businesses. So when we went our separate ways, I went all in on that, under my own name.
02 Why trades
Good trades, invisible online
I've driven pretty much every road between Eastleigh, Hedge End and Winchester, and you can't do that without noticing the vans. Every one has a name and a number on the side. Half the time there's not much behind them online: no website, a Facebook page nobody's touched in years, or a Google listing with the wrong opening hours. Good tradespeople, doing good work, basically invisible to anyone who doesn't already know them.
I'm practical myself. I do my own car repairs at weekends: brakes, suspension, electrics. So I know what it's like to want a job done properly, at a fair price, without being messed about. That's how I want people to feel about working with me.
03 Straight dealing
What annoys me, and what I do instead
How small businesses usually get treated, and how I work.
What you usually get:
"Call us for a quote."Every price I charge is on my website. What you see is what you pay.
What you usually get:
12- and 24-month contracts. No contract on a build. Monthly plans are three months minimum, then you can stop whenever you like.
What you usually get:
Slow, bloated sites built on page builders and plugins.I hand-code every site so it loads fast on a phone in a van with one bar of signal.
What you usually get:
Agencies that own your domain and hold your site hostage.Your domain is in your name. After the first year, if you want to leave, I'll hand you the files.
What you usually get:
Charging a fortune for every tiny change.A change is £45, or it's included in the monthly plans.
What you usually get:
Never being able to get hold of anyone. You get me, Steven, on my own phone.
What you usually get:
Marking up advertising spend.Your ad money goes on your own card, on your own Google account. I never take a cut of it.
04 Working with me
What to expect
- You deal with me from the first call to launch day and after. Nobody else.
- I'll come and meet you in person if you want to.
- You get a fixed price in writing before anything starts.
- Half up front, half when it goes live.
- Most sites are live two to three weeks after I've got your content.
- On the monthly plans you get a one-page report every month showing how many calls and enquiries came in.
- If I miss your call, I'll get back to you, usually by the next working day.
05 Where I work
I'll come to you
I'm based in Bishopstoke, just outside Eastleigh. I'll come to you anywhere in Hampshire, mainly Eastleigh, Southampton, Winchester, Fareham, Portsmouth, Romsey, Basingstoke and Andover. Your yard, your unit, your kitchen table, or a coffee. Just outside that? Give me a ring anyway.
06 Results so far
None to publish yet
I'm new to doing this under my own name, and I'm not going to make numbers up. Instead: every price is published, there's no long contract, and on the monthly plans you see exactly how many calls and enquiries you're getting.
Results and case studies will go here as they come in.
07 Outside work
Bonnets, golf and tortoises
When I'm not building websites I'm usually under a car bonnet, on the golf course or playing cricket. I also keep tortoises, which is a good lesson in patience. Handy when you're waiting for Google to catch up.
Next step
Ring me. I answer my own phone.
20 minutes on what your business does and where the work comes from. Then a fixed price, in writing.
Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. If I miss your call, I'll get back to you, usually by the next working day.
